Model Images Retouching

On-figure photography — where a model wears the garment — creates the most compelling product images in fashion and apparel ecommerce. It also creates the most retouching complexity. The skin, the clothing, and the composition must all work together, and every element must be edited with the final image in mind.

We retouch model images for fashion brands, apparel ecommerce teams, and catalog studios. The standard we work to is natural and commercially credible — nothing over-processed, nothing that makes the model or the garment look artificial.

Skin retouching in commercial and fashion photography is about achieving a clean, credible result — not an over-smoothed one. Blemishes, temporary marks, and handling imperfections are removed. Skin tone is evened and color-balanced across the image. Texture is preserved so the skin reads as real rather than plastic.

We do not apply heavy frequency separation smoothing as a default. The result should look like the model on their best day — not like a digitally altered face.

When a garment is worn by a model, wrinkle correction and garment shaping become more complex than in a flat-lay or mannequin shot. The fabric interacts with the model's body and movement, which means every correction must account for how the garment is supposed to fall — not just how to remove a crease.

We approach clothing retouching within on-figure shots as garment-aware editing. Wrinkles from handling or shipping are removed. Structural folds that define how the fabric drapes are preserved. The result is a garment that looks as the designer intended, worn naturally on a real person.

Where a shoot requires silhouette adjustment — for how the garment reads on the body rather than as a cosmetic change — we make targeted, natural corrections. The goal is always a credible result: the model should look like themselves, and the garment should look like it fits correctly.

We do not apply blanket reshaping. Any adjustment is discussed with the client and applied with restraint to maintain a natural, commercially honest result.

Sensor dust, floor marks, background imperfections, and set debris are cleaned from every image as standard. We also address any technical artifacts introduced during the shoot — tape marks, pins, clips, or styling tools that appear at the edge of the frame.
